Frankfurt International Airport is currently experiencing severe flight disruptions due to a 24-hour strike organised by the union of air traffic controllers GdF. The industrial action started this morning at 05:00 am (local time). According to the airport operator, around 400 flights will be cancelled. Flight disruptions are likely to continue even after the end of the strike as backlogs are cleared.
Last week, Frankfurt International Airport experienced widespread flight cancellations due to similar actions. Frankfurt’s airport is one of the busiest airport of Europe.
People travelling in and out of Frankfurt Airport are advised to check their flight status before heading to the airport.
